More male teachers needed
Staff in Australia Schools survey has revealed we are in need of more male teachers. The survey asked over 15,000 teachers and principals about their working conditions and found fewer than one in five primary school teachers is male and that men are more likely to become principals in high schools. The survey also showed that principals want more power to sack underperforming teachers. Mr Peter Garrett, federal Education Minister said the findings underlined the Government’s push to boost principals’ and parents’ power to run schools.
